Dr. Yves Laflamme is a renowned orthopedic surgeon based in Montreal, specializing in lower limb reconstruction surgery, hip and knee prostheses, and pelvic trauma. Educated at the University of Montreal, he pursued advanced specialization at the University of Toronto under the mentorship of Professors Marvin Tile and Hans Kreder. With over 25 years of experience at the Sacré-Cœur Hospital in Montreal, Dr. Laflamme has performed more than 12,000 surgical procedures, treating internationally recognized complex cases, making him a reference point for many orthopedic surgeons in Quebec.

Dr. Laflamme is also a pioneer in adopting surgical techniques that minimize risks and accelerate postoperative recovery, particularly through the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program, which he integrated in 2017. An innovator, he developed the Y3 plate technology, designed to stabilize fractures around hip prostheses. His commitment to continuous improvement in care is also reflected in his academic career; promoted to full professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Montreal in 2018, he has published over 130 scientific articles and received numerous awards, including the John V. Fowles Award for Professor of the Year.
